Blog of a Wanderer

One of the most important parts of any journey, is documenting it. Rather than keep a journal to myself, I have decided to share my adventures with the world. This blog will document my travels from road trips to backpacking Europe!

Pre-Traveling: Log 1

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain

T-Minus 18 days and counting
: Justin, Shy, and I booked our tickets back from Chicago yesterday so all systems are a go. Before lift off though I still have to defeat 1 in-class exam, 1 online exam, 2 papers, 2 presentations, and 4 final exams. Despite the towering list of academic tasks to complete, the one thing that keeps me going is knowing that as soon as its all over we get to load up the shaggin' wagon and commence the beginning of our senior year at ASU with the what I'm sure to be the defining trip of our collegiate careers. Even though we have virtually no money to get us from point A to B, we've got each other and cliche as it is I think that will be enough to get us there (that is, presuming we don't kill each other on the way).

Our current travel plans include Vegas, Arches, Bryce, Zion, Denver, and Chicago. In preparation for the trip Shy and I have googled (yes, we actually used google) about anything that could possibly benefit road trips. My class notes have transformed from information about consumer behavior and legal studies into various lists to prepare for our trip. Lists have been started for: What to pack (in suitcase), what to bring in the van, what to eat, what not to eat, and activities to keep the ride entertaining. Don't worry blogging world, as the lists are finalized I will make sure to post them so you can benefit not only from our wit but also our growing road tripping wisdom.

Until next time!
-Kate
